Franco, Anne Hathaway to co-host Oscars

Actors James Franco and Anne Hathaway have been named co-hosts of the film industry's upcoming Academy Awards, Oscar organizers said on Monday. The pair are currently starring in two movies that some experts believe could earn them nominations for one of the world's top movie honors when they are given out on February 27. Franco, 32, is starring in the real-life drama "127 Hours," playing a man who cut off his own arm to free himself from being trapped in a canyon with no way to survive, and Hathaway, 28, portrays a free-spirited woman who falls for a drug salesman in "Love and Other Drugs."

"James Franco and Anne Hathaway personify the next generation of Hollywood icons -- fresh, exciting and multi-talented," Oscar producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer said in a joint statement.

Indeed, Oscar organizers have tried in past years to fine tune the live television broadcast for younger movie fans. Although 2010's ceremony paired veteran comedian Steve Martin and actor Alec Baldwin as co-hosts, the show previously had been hosted by "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" star Hugh Jackman and comedians Jon Stewart and Chris Rock, among others.

The Oscars, or Academy Awards, are given out each year by the Beverly Hills-based Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and are typically the second-most watched TV program in the United States after the Super Bowl football championship. The telecast also is seen in more than 200 countries worldwide.

Na Samajhna is an aggressive love song about being strong and moving on,” Kamran says, “To bring it to life, the video stages moments of love and innocence, betrayal and aggression. It focuses on a guy who falls in love for the first time only to be betrayed and left alone. It’s about how he gets back on his feet and outruns life once again. The time-warp video exhibits the timely wardrobe.”

With such an elaborate story to be picturinzed in the span of minutes, we were sure Kamran had a story for us. He adds, “Though every moment was so special, the most memorable has to be the funniest one. It was the aggression stage, the guy wildly throwing away stuff, trashing and smashing his room. Comes the part where I smash the TV set with an iron rod. Danish (the proclaimed bodybuilder of the team) got the rod from his backyard and as he entered the room wiping the mud off, a lizard puts its head out of the opening of the rod and Danish drops the thing almost hitting his head on the ceiling.”

“We cracked up endlessly, and I thought the day was over. Anyways, that’s more like ‘his’ memorable moment. Mine was when I finally stopped laughing and got my guts together to swing the rod. Mudassir, cinematographer, was kneeling right in front of me to capture the lower angle. That’s when I swing and it almost missed his head. Mudassir turned white and struggled out the room. Haha…I felt like a serial killer. I am pretty sure the rod touched his hair. That was also the final capture of the shoot. It’s true, handling the camera is a dangerous job,” Kamran adds.
